Live Like Her Challenge 2023

The Forgotten Women, our dedicated charity, recently concluded its major annual fundraising event, The Live Like Her Challenge.

To help change the lives of homeless women over 55, nearly 115 cars and over 175 individuals came together to take on the second Live Like Her Challenge in September 2023. By living in our cars for one night, we were able to raise over $245,000 to support The Forgotten Women's mission to provide fit-for-purpose housing for women over 55 who are experiencing homelessness. This event marked a significant step towards providing safe and secure housing for these women.

Each participant spent one night sleeping in their car, symbolizing the challenging circumstances of The Forgotten Women, who endure this reality on a daily basis. These often "hidden homeless" women face insecurity, couch-surfing, car living, and the looming threat of violence in their homes. They are more likely to hide than seek help.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who participated, fundraised, and supported this cause, with special acknowledgment to our generous event sponsors, including our patron, the Lady Mayoress, and event ambassadors for their passionate advocacy. Additionally, we express our gratitude to Brisbane Airport Corporation for hosting the Live Like Her Challenge 2023, as well as Trending Media and SeneGence for their tireless efforts in ensuring the success of this event.

In its second year, the Live Like Her Challenge built on the success of its inaugural event, which raised $105,000 with nearly 50 cars. This year, more than doubling these numbers, with 178 individuals in 114 cars participating and raising $246,034.

As we look ahead to 2024, we're excited about the continued growth and impact we can achieve. Join us in next year's event as we strive to provide safe housing for homeless women over 55. One night of your life will help provide her with a home, as everyone deserves to live with dignity and age securely in place.
